Today I want to take the time to thank all Veteran’s who have served, and continue to serve in our Armed Forces. Without their bravery, courage, and sacrifice throughout this great nation’s history, we would not enjoy the freedoms we do today. For anyone who has ever served this country, you understand what that sacrifice and service has meant. It meant leaving your loved ones behind, missed birthdays and holidays, it meant missing those back home, it meant honor, it meant serving next to your brothers and sisters, and so much more. Serving meant there was always a chance you would make the ultimate sacrifice, never returning home, but you went anyway. It is impossible to ever repay Veterans for the service and sacrifice they have made. The best we can do is offer our thanks and our respect on this Veteran’s Day and every day. If you know a Veteran or see one today thank them for all they have done, offer them the respect they so deserve.
Though today is a day to honor Veterans I would also like to take the time to thank the hidden heroes left behind. The moms, dads, wives, husbands, kids, sisters, brothers, etc might not be the ones traveling overseas, serving on the battlefields, but their service and sacrifice is no less significant. They are the ones that keep the home fires burning, they are the ones that make a home for a service member to return to. Those left behind miss birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays with their service member too, they feel alone, and miss their soldier. They are the ones who live with the fear their soldier might not come home, as well as deal with the repercussions of a soldier who returns physically, but is never the same. Their chests will not be full of ribbons from distinguishing themselves in service, and any scars they have will not be visible, but their sacrifice should be recognized, and they deserve our thanks as well. There are not parades or ceremonies in their honor, they would never ask for this or even want it, but let’s not forget those left behind today and their service.

Your writings are awesome and I’m sure will be of great assistance to all who read.
